How to Create Snowy Backgrounds using Christmas Crew

Hello! In today’s video, I am creating and comparing ways to create snowy backgrounds. The Christmas Crew is a cute stamp set/bundle from Stampin’ Up!® and perfect for Christmas card making for adults and children. If you like colouring, this set gives you the perfect opportunity to take some time out and colour.

In this video I am fussy cutting as I want to show how you can use the stamp set alone. The Snowman is a bit more fiddly but with the help of a craft knife you can cut the image out. However, if you are like me, wanting an easy life, and fussy cutting isn’t your favourite past time, the dies are a must have. Not only do they cut the characters out, there are trees, mugs, a beard and more.

I am also talking about the different ways to get Snowy backgrounds using a stamp and ink, hot foiling and heat embossing. Having already stamped with white ink and used the amazing new Swiss Dots Hot Foil Die, the video shows me using VersaMark and White Embossing Powder. As the powder is heated, it melts and creates a shiny, slightly raised effect. I never tire of this technique, it has that special WOW factor every time! My personal favourite is the hot foiling with the heat embossing a close second.
