I’m hopping onto my blog today to post some sad information ahead of Stampin’ Up!® releasing some new products to customers. Why sad? Because the product is called Silly Old Bear, Yes! the classic Winnie the Pooh and friends. It is gorgeous BUT, here’s the sad part, due to copywrite laws, it is ONLY going to be available in America 😟
I LOVE Pooh Bear and am really sad about this. I want to let you know ahead of release time as you will start seeing it online shortly.

“In the UK, copyright protects literary and artistic works for the lifetime of the creator, plus an additional 70 years. Since A.A. Milne passed away in 1956, the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories will enter UK public domain on 1st January 2027. The illustrations by E. H. Shepard have separate protection, and as he died in 1976, the illustrations will stop being protected on 1st January 2047. This means that for now in the UK, Pooh is protected – but this isn’t the case everywhere… “
Why are Stampin’ Up! producing something that can only be sold in the USA? The simple answer is that was never their intention. However, during production, copywrite restrictions in other countries came to light. So, please accept my apologies in advance.
