For today’s blog post and YouTube tutorial, I am using acrylic blocks to create a background for cards. We have some gorgeous patterned papers available that make stunning backgrounds, as shown in card one. The Thoughtful Journey DSP from Stampin’ Up!® has many watercolour backgrounds that you could use for a quick version. However, this technique is fun and easy to do, giving unique results each time, in any colour combo you like!

I’m using Acrylic Blocks E (118484) for this background as I want a large area covered. The Stampin’ Write Marker colours are Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath.
Quick instructions
Using brush tips colour onto chosen block.
Spritz with water.
Place onto cardstock (use a Stampin’ Mat for cushioning)
Leave to dry before stamping your image or sentiment.

This is using designer series paper with a watercolour effect.
