Happy New Year!
Hello and welcome to my first blog post of 2025! I hope you’ve had a great Christmas with family and friends and enjoyed a bit of a break from daily life. We had a fairly quiet time, mainly at home this year after the busy week leading up to Christmas Day. It was my turn to cook, my Mum and I take it in turns, and Matt’s Mum also spent the day with us this year. We’ve enjoyed some lovely walks, visiting Newark Park, our local canal and common with the children and Jasper. It cost me a few hot chocolates along the way.
Now that the (Happy) New Year has arrived, it is time for me to get organised. You can see this isn’t my normal type of blog post. I intend to blog more often but not all will contain videos or even cards. 2025 is going to be an exciting year with the release of more Scrapbooking products, I can’t wait to share them with you. Here’s a page layout I’ve been playing with:
This is the same page, just playing around with ideas before adhering the elements. The white cardstock represents where my photos will go when I print them. Normally I would build a page around the photos but you can also do it this way. Using strips of patterned paper with a larger cardstock mat adds detail to the page without being overpowering. It is always a good idea to lay out your page first, take a photo, then you can move things around a bit. You can then compare and decide before committing with glue. I love the Mini Alphabet Dies (162934) for the title, they are great for personalising cards as well so a great buy!
Scrapbooking – A new hobby?
I run a workshop/crop for people already scrapbooking but what about those new to it? Well, I am going to be holding small classes at home for anyone local wanting to start. Page layouts can also be sent as a kit in the post, along with photos and instructions, for those further away. It is a great hobby to have and creates beautiful albums to share with your family. I have albums for each of my children, weddings, other family members, holidays and Christmas. Journaling adds essential detail that may otherwise be forgotten over time. How many of us look at old photos and not know who is in them? Adding dates, places and names can really help to bring those photos/memories alive many years later.
If you would like more information regarding the workshops or beginners classes, do get in touch.
Look out for my next blog post all about Sale-A-Bration and the new Mini Catalogue launching 7th January!
Take care
Mel xx
