As promised, today’s video is showing how to make a gift box that fits a chocolate orange. This was one of the presentations at the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Day in Reading last week. It was designed by a demonstrator called Sandra, with measurements in centimetres. I’ve re-worked it into inches so it is slightly bigger by a few millimetres. To cover all basis, both sets of measurements are further down this post.
This gift box is perfect for this time of year! I LOVE chocolate oranges but why do we associate them with Christmas? Just for fun I googled this very question and found the following:
1. Before World War 2, oranges were a luxury and often given as a Christmas present,
2. Joseph Terry, owner, believed they would be a way for families to enjoy the taste of orange in a sweet treat.
This box is a great size for all sorts of gifts, it’s not exclusively for a chocolate orange! If you do craft fayres or like making packaging earlier in the year, you can store this box flat.
