Last weekend I attended the Stampin Up! Convention @home. Normally I would have a weekend away with fellow demonstrators, meeting friends, making new ones, seeing new products and catalogues, making cards and some training.
This year, for obvious reasons, we couldn’t do that but Stampin Up! Worked incredibly hard to ensure we could still ‘get together’ and enjoy the main elements of OnStage from our own homes. There were demonstrations of some amazing new stamp sets, giving not just one example of how to use the products but five or six! Seeing demos really brings a product to life and I can’t wait to share the ones I’ve already ordered with you via YouTube and Facebook so do look out for those :).
The new mini catalogue due out in January has some fantastic items that I am sure you will love and don’t forget…January brings Sale-A-Bration, Stampin Up!’s biggest event but I will post more about that nearer the time.
So, as well as demonstrations, make and takes and some training, OnStage is a great event for demonstrators to share their ideas by swapping their creations. In the run up to OnStage in person I would normally be busy making 30 to 50 of the same item to swap with other demonstrators from all over the UK. Some do card fronts, some do 3D items which can include little gifts as well! I love looking at the swaps I’ve received and seeing how they are made, getting even more ideas I can share.
OnStage is also a time when Stampin Up! acknowledge demonstrators and their achievements, there is a lot of clapping and cheering as Team Leaders get to walk across the stage and receive their awards. The great thing is everyone gets acknowledged, whether you are a hobby demonstrator or a business demonstrator; no one is left out! We also have PRIZE PATROL!! This causes a lot of excitement, drum rolls and cheering while waiting to see if your number comes up and then waiting to see what you have won. Everybody is given a number in their pack of goodies when they sign in at the event so no one misses out. Everything that is given away during the day is from the new catalogue and there is also a Prize Patrol that everyone gets.
So, you get a pack of goodies on arrival, swaps, Prize Patrols, new catalogue, make and takes and the items used during the day get divided up on each table giving you even more free products and refreshments and lunch! It really is an amazing day and one I would love to be able to share with you as part of my team. If you would like to know more about joining my team do get in touch.
After a fun packed day I would head back to the hotel, grab a drink and spend a bit of time looking through the new catalogue. As an attendee of OnStage you get what is known as Product Purchase Premier. This is some select new items that attendees only can order in advance of the catalogue pre-order opening up to all demos but you only have a few days in which to order. I normally wait til I get home to do my PPP order but some do it that day!
That evening I usually join a group of other demos for a meal, a few drinks and a good laugh. The social aspect of Stampin Up! is very important to the majority of demonstrators, we love to share our love for stamping and crafts in general and it is so good for our mental well being which is even more important during these strange and challenging times.
